I started filming as a coping mechanism for my fear of public speaking through elementary and high school. I began filming my group presentations in a documentary style to avoid having to speak in front of the class. The video camera was my crutch and actually scored me some good grades.

  Many years later, I am still a little shy but won't make myself sick over it. After high school, I was awarded the Garfield Weston Merit Scholarship, which allowed me to study Media Arts at Sheridan College. While I was there, I focussed my efforts on documentary film, camera, lighting, and editing. During my third year, I was lucky enough to land a placement at Impact Communications, where the legendary Mike Melnik continued my crash course in the media field.

  2025 marks my 26th year of producing film projects. 

I continue to produce projects under the FILMkelly handle, while also collaborating with Impact Communications, Mike Melnik, and Meg Murphy. I strive to create projects efficiently that are meaningful and affordable for many businesses and not-for-profits in our community.
